To ensure a smooth and guaranteed entry, it is recommended to book your timed entry tickets online in advance. Walk-in admissions are also available at the front counter. Booking online not only secures your spot but also helps you avoid potential lines, making your visit more efficient and enjoyable. Please note that children aged 13 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult during their zoo visit.

Wild Edmonton Membership

The Ultimate Wild Edmonton Experience:

The Wild Edmonton family membership provides unlimited access to both the Edmonton Valley Zoo and the John Janzen Nature Centre. Purchase your membership online and then register your family members at Guest Services during your next visit to either attraction.

Valid for up to 7 family members residing in the same household, related by birth, legal status, or marriage. Please bring a list of family member names, birth dates, and proof of address for adults during registration.

Wild Edmonton Membership Benefits:

  • Enjoy a full year of unlimited visits to both the Edmonton Valley Zoo and the John Janzen Nature Centre.
  • Active Wild Edmonton family members are also eligible for a 15% discount on an annual Muttart Conservatory family membership.

Wild Neighbours Cafe

Open Daily, 9am-5pm | Location: Entry Plaza

Start your day or take a break at the Wild Neighbours Cafe, located right in the Entry Plaza. Enjoy a selection of espresso beverages, teas, refreshing cold drinks, and blended options. The cafe also offers a variety of sandwiches and delicious treats, along with non-coffee choices like pop, juice, and lemonades.

Farmer’s Kitchen

Open Daily, 10am-4:30pm | Seasonal: May – September & Special Event Days | Location: Urban Farm

For a heartier meal or classic snack options, visit the Farmer’s Kitchen, seasonally open from May to September and on special event days. Located in the Urban Farm area, this spot features a classic hot menu with a range of goodies, including ice cream novelties, fresh and bagged popcorn, cotton candy, chocolate bars, and a selection of refreshments, including healthier alternatives.

Moo at the Zoo

Open Daily, 10:30am-4:30pm | Seasonal: May – September | Location: Urban Farm/Red Panda Exhibit

Cool down with a sweet treat at Moo at the Zoo, open seasonally from May to September. Situated near the Urban Farm and Red Panda Exhibit, Moo at the Zoo offers a wide selection of scooped ice cream, ice cream novelties, mini donuts, refreshments, and bagged popcorn, perfect for a delightful snack during your zoo adventure.

Wetland Treats

Open Daily, 10:30am-4:30pm | Seasonal: May-September | Location: Northern Leopard Frog/Reindeer Exhibits

Located near the Northern Leopard Frog and Reindeer Exhibits, Wetland Treats is another seasonal option open from May to September. Stop by for scooped ice cream, ice cream novelties, mini donuts, hotdogs, refreshments, and bagged popcorn to satisfy your cravings while exploring this area of the zoo.

Conservation Carousel

Open During Zoo Hours | Cost: Free (donations to conservation efforts accepted) | Location: Meltwater Play

Take a ride on the Conservation Carousel, a unique and meaningful attraction at the zoo! Each animal figure on the carousel represents an endangered species that calls the Edmonton Valley Zoo home. Rides are free, and donations to support the zoo’s conservation programs are welcomed. Riders must be under 50 inches (127cm) in height to ride. Miniature Train Ride

Open Daily, 10am-4pm | Cost: Free with admission | Location: Near camel exhibit

All aboard! Enjoy a leisurely ride on the miniature train, a classic zoo experience. The train ride is free with zoo admission and offers a fun and relaxing way to see a different perspective of the zoo grounds. (Seasonal, weather dependent, operating from May to September).

Ensuring Safety

Guest and Animal Safety

To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests and the animals, please note the following restrictions:

  • Pets are not permitted within the zoo, with the exception of trained service dogs.
    • Service dogs must be clearly identified with a vest and appropriate harness.
    • Guests may be asked to provide Government of Alberta issued ID or certification from an accredited training school (such as Dogs with Wings and Assistance Dogs International).
    • Emotional Support Animals are not recognized under these guidelines.
  • The following items are also prohibited within the zoo: Balloons, Bubbles, Balls and frisbees, Bikes, scooters, skateboards, and roller blades.
