Where is FAU Arena? Your Guide to Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena

Known affectionately as “The Burrow,” the FAU Arena, now officially named the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, has been a central hub for Florida Atlantic University (FAU) sports since the 1980s. Since 1984, it has hosted women’s basketball, and since 1988, it has welcomed men’s basketball and volleyball, offering fans thrilling Division I action right on campus. If you’re wondering “Where Is Fau” in relation to exciting sports events, look no further than this arena.

This vibrant facility boasts a seating capacity of 2,900 and underwent a significant modernization in 2007. A $10 million renovation project enhanced the fan experience with a new roof, updated locker rooms, an improved exterior and lobby, comfortable chair back seating, and a modern video scoreboard. Further upgrades in 2008 included the addition of club suites, adding a premium feel to “The Burrow” as FAU’s sports programs continue to grow in prominence.

In recognition of a generous $3 million donation from the Rocco and Mary Abessinio Foundation, the court was named “Abessinio Court” in June 2019, marking a significant contribution to FAU Athletics. More recently, in November 2022, Eleanor R. Baldwin demonstrated her commitment to FAU with a remarkable $7.5 million gift. In honor of this contribution, FAU Arena was renamed Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, solidifying its place as a premier venue within the university.
