Despite the Pacers’ determination, the Celtics are equally focused on closing out the series. In Game 3, Boston demonstrated their resilience by overcoming an 18-point third-quarter deficit to clinch a 114-111 victory on the road.
“We’ve met every challenge,” Celtics star Jayson Tatum commented. “We’re in a great position right now, one win away from the finals. But we can’t look past Monday or anything like that, and we have a special opportunity to go back to the finals.”
Indiana played Game 3 without their key player, Tyrese Haliburton, who is dealing with a left hamstring injury. His availability for Game 4 remains uncertain. Carlisle offered no updates on Haliburton’s condition during his Sunday press conference. Haliburton’s absence would be a significant blow for the Pacers, especially after his strong performance in Game 1 where he scored 25 points and dished out 10 assists in their overtime loss.
For the Celtics, Kristaps Porzingis is still sidelined with a right soleus strain. Luke Kornet is questionable with a left wrist sprain, and Jrue Holiday is also listed as questionable due to a non-COVID illness.
